I’m currently staying in a town about 90 minutes out from Tokyo. And the cinema in this town is called “Cinema Neko” which means “Cat Cinema”. So this town has cat themed things everywhere including the cinema. There are parody movie posters around the city of famous movies, but the artwork is actually cats. My favourite was “Silence of the Cats”. Anyways, they also were only showing movies about cats at the theatre so I picked this one because it seemed the most fun. There is no dialogue, and since I don’t speak any Japanese, it was a win for me. Such a cute movie. I loved it. I bought a sticker of the cat, dog, and the forest monster from the gift shop. And the staff were also very nice. Overall, great experience and great film :))

Komaneko is a charming film
The best thing is you don't need a fansub to watch this film as the film relies on physical humor let alone verbal humorThe stop motion is very charming and the visuals are vibrant and crisp
The film is basically little stories about Komaneko, his fascination with film (mainly stop motion animation) and his curiosity
The film allows you to see the story so you can understand what's taking place rather than some shoe-horned narrator holding your hand through this experienceImport this film!
I assure you that you'll love every moment of it -

don't know if i'm the target demographic for this film. my focus wobbled a fair bit at one or two points. i read about some guy whose new tesla cybertruck was all fucked up on delivery and he slashed himself so badly on a body panel that he had to go to the ER, but he thinks the truck is great anyway. some mothers' children, honestly. anyway, i like how the cat had his little camera and stuff. and i like that he uses the power of being extremely confused to resolve conflicts. i was somewhat worried about my inability to focus on a film for toddlers, though. what might this say about me? perhaps the material was too juvenile for me to be engaged... but what if my adhd is getting worse somehow? what if my brain isn't working properly? i like that the cat was cute
